This is happening quite frequently and on specific types of sites into which I have logged in (account type web pages).

It doesn't happen in other Browsers and I don't want to keep clearing cache/cookies so often, which doesn't resolve the issues.

Any ideas for a solution please?

When I use the reload button to fix the issue, I often get a pop-up saying that Firefox "has to resend" information and asking me to confirm. This doesn't work as the blank page returns.

That indicates Firefox will resend form data from a previous form submission. If there is a pattern related to forms, hmm, why would that be?

Hi Sean D, when you get the blank page, will it load if you do either of these things:

  • Reload using Ctrl+r or clicking the Reload button on the toolbar
  • Click in the address bar and press Enter

I probably have about 1 out of 100 pages where I need to do that. I haven't seen it often enough to try to research why.

You have a few colorful icons on your toolbar just past your photo. Do any of those add-ons (Extensions, not Plugins) relate to content-blocking or other content-related functionality?

Hi jscher2000,

The solution "Click in the address bar and press Enter" has worked, not the other two. Note that my previous attempts to send the secure message worked (see attached), I was unable to see this confirmation.

Is there a permanent fix for this or do I simply use this method?

My "colourful" icons are described in the attached, they shouldn't interfere.

Thank you for your support.

Sean.

If Reload doesn't work, Firefox may not have received the full page the first time. I don't know why that happens. Do you notice any pattern to the types of sites affected?

more options

Yes, sites where I log in i.e. where I have registered for an account and I'm going into a more secure area where I might input data.

The example above is my Hosting Company (123-reg) and the blank page appears when I go to the Support page to send a message.

When I use the reload button to fix the issue, I often get a pop-up saying that Firefox "has to resend" information and asking me to confirm. This doesn't work as the blank page returns.

It's well beyond my understanding but I can cope with it now that you've shown me a way to get around it, thank you.

I've been a Chrome user for many years, I saw some good reviews about Firefox, so far it's a better experience overall.
