Hi guys, it's my first post here. I'm an ICT technician from Italy and I need support for a trick: on a preconfigured IMAP account, I've changed the host and I've noticed that the path inside the msgFilterRules.dat remains the same (old host). That's a problem because the FilterRoules need to be distributed and synced over different client (some old and some new) and automatically update when someone edit or add some rules. That actually works only with the client that has been configured with the older hostname and than updated, because the newer contains, in the rules files, the new host. There is some way to do that (without reconfiguring a new account on each old client)? Thanks Davide

you changed the host? Can I assume you men the server name?

If that is the case, then there is nothing to worry about as the server name is only incidentally related to the internal URI's Thunderbird uses to locate mail etc. The incidental link being the server name is user to create the initial URI's but changing the server name from imap.mydomain.com to imap.mynewdomain.con does not affect the internal URI's

Note that changing IMAP accounts to a new hosting provider will see all existing mail removed unless you have taken action to move it at the server level to the new IMAP server.

Hi Matt, changing the initial URI it's the problem... and I need to do that via parameter into Thunderbird (if present) and not editing the .dat file.

I still do not know why you need to change it. I can see no circumstance there is would impact on the functionality of the program. it should just continue to work as it always had, sure some internal references might look odd, but it has no functional relevance at all.
