some tabs crash after Firefox is inactive for a while

Okay, so let's say I open a tab, browse, and leave Firefox for a while. It probably goes into sleep mode or whatever. When I come back, it hangs while trying to load whatever the foremost tab was, and if I try to put something new into the omnibar (a search or a URL, doesn't matter), it just shows a blank page and fails to load.

Sometimes I select other tabs and they do the same thing. The only surefire way to avoid this is to open a completely new tab.

It sounds like a small thing but it really slows down my "hold on lemme Google this" moments and is really annoying. Anyone recognize this issue and know why it happens?

Note, it seems particularly consistent with duckduckgo, but affects other sites too.

Oh, I forgot to mention that if I don't allow a tab time to reload and go straight to the omnibar, it sometimes will show the same behavior.

Hi

I am sorry for the delay in responding.

I think that what you are seeing is linked very much to this issue that our developers are looking into:

https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/12731

It looks like some improvements have been made to the Nightly version of Firefox for Android and we hope to make them available to more people very soon.

Oh, perfect. Yes, I imagine that's it. There's a linked issue that if a page is interrupted in its loading by an omnibar entry, it hangs up and stops loading or gets stuck. But perhaps that will be fixed when the root is.
