After updating from version 26 to version 27, Firefox will not open under Sandboxie 4.08. My XP task manager indicates that Firefox is running as a process, but not as a running application. I've tried everything and then some, and nothing seems to fix this. I really don't like running un-sandboxed. I've also posted this issue on the Sandboxie forum, and others are having the same problem. I think the problem is with the latest update to Firefox and not Sandboxie since all previous versions of Firefox have worked perfectly under Sandboxie.

I really appreciate everyone's commentary on this issue. What I finally did to resolve the problem was to revert to an earlier version of Firefox, namely version 25.0.1. Version 26 update did away with a feature that I liked, and, of course, the sandboxing problem with version 27. I read in a previous post that someone succeeded with sandboxing version 27 by downloading the full version of Firefox 27 and installing it over their existing Firefox installation rather than going to Help>About Firefox>Check for Updates which is what I did. Still in all, the route that I took should not have caused any problems with Sandboxie since it never did before. Of course I always updated outside the sandbox. I closed Firefox completely by going to File>Exit; opened un-sandboxed; updated; then re-opened Firefox with the "Sandboxed Web Browser" desktop icon. Anyway, I now have the version of Firefox that I like best, and it is fully protected by Sandboxie. Thanks again, everybody!

it's probably better to keep the discussion going at the sandboxie forums, since the people participating there are more knowledgable about the inner workings of this program: www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=98563#98563

I had the same problem so instead I installed the older version "Firefox Version 26" and all is back to normal. I prefer to have an older FF protected with the latest Sandboxie as opposed to a latest version of FF unprotected.
