I get 10 time more spam/ads using Firefox/Yahoo, than on my Comcast account. I want to use a "good" site blocker. Firefox has sites for installing "blocksite" ad on's. There are many ad on applications that can be used. The company's privacy statements say if I use one of these applications, I give them permission to collect, use and report all types of data for their or their 3rd party partners, for which they say they are not responsible. Several of these companies are from Europe, which is noted for spyware or maleware. Does Mozella/Firefox ensure that these ad on applications are safe to install on computer systems and cannot install malicious software when the ad on's are downloded? Which ones are recommended?? Thanks

Your software security review process for ad on's & apps seem to be very comprehensive. Did not understand everything; however, I did notice you addressed the spyware, maleware, virus issue.

One of your statements about secureity is:
"Whenever an add-on includes any unexpected* feature that •compromises user privacy or security (like sending data to third parties),"

I think I did notice that one of the BlockSite applications did say that data is being shared with 3rd party partners, and this is disclosed in their Privacy disclosure, unless I did not read it correctly. As you know, this is how many "free" applications make revenue--by selling site visit information to various marketing companies, without, so they say, providing any specific information about the owner. This of course results in the 3rd party putting adware cookies or sending all kinds of Spam mail. This may not be a security risk

Thanks for your clairification.
