This is the web site: http://www.starcitizenaustralia.com/

For me, that large area is occupied by a Flash player object. Are you using Flashblock or any other extensions that could possibly affect the display of Flash?

I have included a screenshot of plugins and extensions

Can't really think of anything, I even have adblock disabled on the site.

Could you check for any standard Firefox notification icons on the address bar, such as:

  • Blocked plugin icon
  • Mixed active content (shield) icon
  • Mixed display content (gray ! triangle) icon

I can't see any of those things. I did click on the brick icon next to the search bar and it said that adobe flash is running, so I don't think it's that.

It looks as though the source domain is on Amazon's S3 network. It's a little hard to decode, but try the link after bg= (last link):

<param name="flashvars" value="crossdomain=http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws.c.../crossdomain.xml&resourcesdomain=http://www.starcitizenaustralia.com/a.../crossdomain.xml&fontsbaseurl=http://www.starcitizenaustralia.com/a.../fonts&bgtype=image&bgcolor=0&alignment=right&height=380&numitems=0&bgtransparent=1&bg=http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws.c.../y1Qy1cv.jpg">

Can you think of any reason images from that server might be blocked? This article has tips that might be relevant: Fix problems that cause images to not show.

And/or, in case you have a corrupted copy of the file in cache, another possible solution is to clear your cache. You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

Image loaded find in the link you sent me so not sure why it wont load in the webpage. I went through the article you linked and tried the suggestions with no luck. The 4th section about having real player extension issues interested me as I don't have it installed as far as I can tell. Maybe I should install it?

http://www.real.com.au/

That's the place or is there an actual FF extension for it?

I would avoid RealPlayer if not needed to play audio files. I don't think it can help with images.

Well in that case I don't need it. I cannot think of what else might be causing this. If it matters, the same thing happens when I try in Google Chrome too

Are there any images looking like they are blocked if you check that in "Tools > Page Info > Media"?

Did you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode and possibly reset all prefs by renaming ()or moving the prefs.js file?

There might still be ad-blocking in effect with the file name of the Flash object containing "header"

data="http://resources.guild-hosting.net/20140418558/themes/core/flash/header/v3/EnjinHeader.swf"
flashvars=http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws.com/crossdomain.xml&resourcesdomain=http://www.starcitizenaustralia.com/assets/20140418558/crossdomain.xml&fontsbaseurl=http://www.starcitizenaustralia.com/assets/20140418558/headers/fonts&bgtype=image&bgcolor=0&alignment=right&height=380&numitems=0&bgtransparent=1&bg=http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws.com/708230/module_header/22535967/background/y1Qy1cv.jpg

Well I not only white listed the site, but also disabled Adblock Plus to no avail. I checked the site via the media tab when going to the more information section (clicking the globe in the search bar) and it showed the image that I think is not loading as greyed out (see attached).

Did you try Safe Mode?

more options

Ok just found out how to do safe mode, the picture loads in that!

It is possible that if you disable an extension via its settings and not in Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions that some components are still active.

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

Success! It would appear that the extension HTTPS Everywhere (3.5) while enabled was blocking that one image, which is very weird. I shall try and find a way for the extension to ignore this site hopefully.
