How do I reset my policy restrictions password
We set up restrictions on our computers to block adult sites. However, it is blocking more than adult sites. When I click "white-list" a certain site, it asks for a password. I cannot remember the password, how do I reset it? It is NOT the Firefox master password, we don't have one of those set. This is just a little box that pops up when I try to allow a site, and says "This page is unavailable due to policy restrictions."

Use the Reset Firefox feature to discard all your add-ons and preferences. Then reinstall the Procon Latte add-on and reconfigure it from its Preferences button in the Add-ons Manager.

Firefox doesn't have such a feature. It's provided by the ProCon Latte Content Filter add-on that you installed.
- Open your Firefox profile folder.
- In the Firefox window, click the ≡ Menu Button, then the Power Symbol to exit Firefox.
- Back in the file manager window, create a backup copy of the prefs.js file.
- Open prefs.js in a text editor.
- Find and delete the line that looks like this:
- user_pref("extensions.procon.general.password", "a string of letters and numbers here");
- Save the file. If you're using TextEdit, be sure to save as plain text. By default, TextEdit saves as a rich text document, which is inappropriate.
Hi Gingerbread Man, Thank you for the reply. I followed your instructions and deleted that line; however it is still asking for a password. When we try to go to a certain site, it pops up and says this is blocked due to policy restrictions. It gives you the option of selecting "Allow this site" "Temp allow this site." But when we click on one, it asks for a password. (I cannot remember the password I set) When you said save as plain text - it didn't give me an option, it just saved it.
Any clues?
Thank you!
