Can't change default search engine, no search field, No search logo since switching to DuckAndGo
Can't change the search engine. There's no search field at the top of my browser. Only an address field. I don't know where it went or how to put it back. I switched my search engine to DuckAndGo on the new tab page and the search logo disappeared so now I can't change my search engine from there.

You can check the Customize palette to see if you can find the search bar there.
Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
- "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
- if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button to restore the default toolbar setup
"Remove from Toolbar" in the right-click context menu of an item will move this item to the Customize palette and "Move to Menu" moves the item to the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list. The latter can be reversed via the right-click context menu in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list and click "Move to Toolbar".
This is a workaround that solves the essential part of my problem. Thank you. I found the search field in the customize panel (I think that's what it's called) and dragged it to the Firefox menu area (I think that's what it's called) and that gives me access to the search field via the Firefox menu button ("3-bar" or "hamburger"). But I still can't figure out how to put the search field up top. However this is a workaround that does solve the problem of being able to change search engine via Firefox menu>search field which restores the search engine logo to the new tab page if I change the search engine back to Google. This seems like a deliberate ploy by DuckAndGo to lock itself in as my default search engine by hiding the logo. It's sneaky and makes me question their integrity. They wasted a fair amount of my time this morning. I retried them because Mozilla recommended them when I updated Firefox.
Note that you can use the Ctrl+K shortcut to access the search bar when you place it in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list. In that case the Ctrl+K shortcut will open the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list with the search field having focus.
Type about:customizing<Enter> in the address bar. At the bottom left, press Show / Hide Toolbars. Turn on Additional Toolbar. Then move the search box into it.
