how do i remove "most visited" and "getting started" from page?
i don't need a most visited list. these appeared, and the headings for file, etc., in upper left corner (which i would prefer to have back) dissappeared.

Hi barge:
(1) Default Bookmarks including Smart Bookmark Folders
You can right-click > Delete an unwanted bookmark or, to save these for possible later use but put them out of sight, create a new folder named Firefox or Fx for short and drag them into the folder.
(2) Missing Menu Bar
To turn different bars on and off, you can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select the desired bars there:
- right-click a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
- tap the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > View > Toolbars
- in Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)
To turn on the Menu Bar, Bookmarks Toolbar, or other bars, click it on the list.
Success?

Hi barge, did you recently update to Windows 10? There are several options for what happens to your old Firefox data, so if it didn't carry over, we can suggest where to look for it. The most common place is here:
C:\Windows.old
More specifically:
C:\Windows.old\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
If you can't get to AppData, turn on viewing of hidden files. This Microsoft article might still work in Windows 10:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files
You can pull out files selectively or if you want to do a wholesale restoration of Firefox as it was before, check out the steps in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1024189
Thank you for your assistance
