Is the MozBackup app a good solution for my desire to backup my Thunderbird IMAP Gmails to my hard drive? If not, then what is the most practical, easiest way to backup my IMAP Gmails to my hard drive?

I can't comment on MozBackup since I guess it's a Windows program whereas I use Linux. But the easiest way to create a backup is to copy your Thunderbird profile folder to an external drive: the profile folder includes all your emails, contacts, settings etc. More info here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb If you want the process to occur automatically (e.g. weekly) then I'd look for a program that can be set to copy any folder or file to an external drive and just include your Thunderbird profile in that.
