The short answer is that you can still access everything by using the well-known menu bar like you have always done. Support instructions on this webite however may no longer include instructions for it, since the menu button is considered to be the default way to open "menu" items (though opinions may vary).

The Firefox 12 version you are on is really outdated and therefor no longer safe to use. If you really are on XP SP2 though, you should be able to upgrade Firefox to the latest version. If Fx 12 is the last one succeeding, that would indicate you are still on SP1.

(Copied from this question:)

Windows XP has been EOL with support since April 2014.

While Windows XP SP2 is still the minimum ever since Firefox 13.0, SP2 users cannot run the Firefox setups since Fx 43.0.2 due to signing. They can however install 43.0.1 and update to current if they do not update WinXP to SP3. This is why those with browser useragents showing NT 5.1 (for WinXP) are being served 43.0.1 and not 44.0 on mozilla.org.

WinXP SP3 users can run current versions including current 32-bit Firefox 50.1.0 (but up to 52) on www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/. If that does not succeed, you should get Fx 44.0 by going to http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/44.0/win32/ and pick your language, and then let it upgrade.

The best thing to do in my opinion however would be to install SP3 for XP first and let Firefox upgrade. If you don’t succeed, do a fresh install after all.

Please see Firefox no longer works with some versions of Windows XP and Firefox has ended support for Windows XP and Vista articles for more info and report back.
