Can one copy a message in the "Sent" folder of one computer to the Sent folder of another?

Normally I send email messages from my desktop, where copies are automatically stored in TBird's Sent folder. However when I'm traveling, I send them from my laptop (identically configured), where they are stored in that computer's Sent folder. Is there a way to easily transfer these copies to the Sent folder on my desktop, without manually forwarding each one (and losing the actual recipient and sent date)?

I've tried using "Forward as attachments" and sending them to myself, but then I can't find a way to move the attachments into the Sent folder.

It appears you have your account set up as POP, and in this case it's possible to export a mail folder from one computer and import it to another with ImportExportTools. Or, just save the messages as eml files from Ctrl+S (File/Save As/File) and drag and drop them into the Sent folder on the other PC.

But it would be a lot easier and more efficient to set up the account as IMAP on both computers and have all folders, including Sent, synchronized across all machines.

Thanks - that worked fine!

You're right, I'm using POP. Re switching to IMAP, two very basic questions:

Will the mail I currently have stored locally (say on my desktop) be affected in any way? Will IMAP store (or can it be configured to store) received messages and copies of sent messages locally, so I can access them offline?

Thanks!

You should copy the POP folders to Local Folders so they're available after you delete the POP account. Or, back up the entire profile as a safety measure, as you should do anyway on a regular basis.

Offline storage of IMAP folders is enabled by default:
