switching between firefox and other apps, loading/reloading

Lets say im trying to setup a confirmation email and need to switch between firefox and another app like phone/texting to receive a code. How do you stop firefox from reloading everytime you switch apps?

As of now i can not leave a firefox page open, switch to my texting app to recive a code and then switch back to Firefox without it reloading the page and kicking me out of the process. It shouldn't. Be this hard

I think it's a function of how much memory is available. Firefox doesn't need to reload a tab very often on the device I bought in November 2016, but it would happen quite often on my previous devices if I had a lot of apps active when I was switching away from and back to Firefox.
