Hello, and Happy Holidays.

I currently use TB with multiple email accounts, including an Exchange account using the Owl add-on. Recently I upgraded to TB 78, and after that, the Exchange account started behaving oddly. I now must login each time I restart TB. When I look at the Server Settings, under Authentication Method, the only options are " password form fill in background", "lenient password form fill in background", or "open login web page."

If I select, "open login web page" then everything works....except I must login every time I restart TB. If I select either of the other options, then TB displays an error message at the bottom left of the screen that says, "could not detect login form."

I have asked the Owl add-on developer, but he did not know why TB is unable to remember my login info, or what the "could not detect login form" message means. I have searched online, as well as in the Mozilla community for the terms "could not detect login form" and "password form fill in background" but I am not able to find any information about those terms.

Does anyone here know what the "login form" TB is trying to detect is? Or where the login form would be saved? Any ideas would be appreciated. I did try downgrading back to TB 68 and setting up the Exchange account again....but the same problem occurs.....so I re-upgraded to TB 78.

  Thanks. And cheers.

I would think only the author would know what login page it was looking for. None of the authentication method listed in your image are offered in a normal p[op/imap or SMTP account.

But I will have a guess that your internet security suite comes with a password manager and it is sticking it's nose in. It is the best guess I can offer. Generally it is a good idea to try the operating system safe mode to eliminate third part applications as a cause. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
