Hello, i was trying to configurate my wifi using ethernet connection and i got the messege several times even trying to access my provider page and my router page, however it does'nt happend with youtube, some how finally i got to my router page introduced my user id and password, i had to change my wifi antena and try with a a diferent driver but finally got my wifi working. But after that i got for first time in my life a blue screen on Windows 10.

Maybe isn't a big problem but i don't understand what happened, Firefox detected a true risk problem cause the ethernet conncection wasn't safe? Something (a virus or malware) enter my pc? Or was because a internal problem between firefox and a new not configureted router?

Also that messege appear on my android firefox one time.

Thank you and sorry for my english.

The most common and possible warning of "potential security risk" accessing router/ firewall is https cert error. Some routers use self sign/ expired certificates that cause this issue. Please update your router firmware and / or contact the manufacturer.

It is less likely to be something with drivers and bsod. Changing router doesn't change anything in your pc and hence driver update is not required.

This issue could be a security concern as someone could potentially do mitm attack on your wifi. Running av like avast can do little in that case.

Hi, usually the error page indicates the problem in more detail, for example, that the certificate presented by the device cannot be verified. Does the page have an "Advanced" button? If you click that button, you should be able to find the specific error code (like SEC_ERROR_SOMETHING) and look that up in the following article:

How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites

If you don't find the solution there, could you copy/paste that more detailed section of the error page and paste it into a reply here?

Thank you jscher2000. I should take a memo about details, but the error doesn't appear anymore, i'm more concern about a vulnerability of my router before configured it, if it was a real threath or a browser malfunction?

I ran Avast but i couldn't find anything wrong. Maybe im a little paronoic because the blue screen.
