Typing 'google' for any reason causes a new tab to open up automatically.

Whenever I type the word 'google' for any reason, even when composing an email, Firefox automatically opens up a new tab. Google is my home page so the new tab that opens shows the google main search page. What I have to do is type goo gle and then insert the cursor before the 'gle' part and back space. How do I stop this, please?

Wow, that's really strange. As far as I know, there aren't any built-in features that could do that. It's hard to imagine that an add-on would do that, but it's a possibility. Do you have any that could check words you type and either do a text replacement or run a macro depending on the word?
