Today, June 10,2010, Google arbitrarily added a background image to www.google.com. They include instructions for removing the image that do not work. After combing the chat boards, I found that I could go to MyAccount/MyProducts/iGoogle/settings and click on "Classic". This restores the classic background when I use Internet Explorer to access www,.google.com, but the background image persists when I use Firefox (my preferred browser). PLEASE, what do I have to do to get rid of these stupid images?

I am one of the few that likes the background image, but I have a different problem. While in Firefox if I click "Change Background Image" I just get a blank pop-up box where I'm suppossed to get background choices. This only happens in FF. Any suggestions?

That is a javascript link that opens a pop-up window, so make sure that you use a left click.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

Go to your Tools menu in your Mozilla screen then select Add Ons.

You need to select the default view so it will go back to normal.

This thread is not about personas, but about Google adding a background image to its website. Currently you need to be logged on to Google to have that feature.
