I thought I had figured out the problem but I was wrong. What I did was I went to the Command Prompt in Windows. ( Click on start button and then type in command prompt.) Then I typed in ping.facebook.com to get the numerical IP address of facebook. Then I went to my firewalls allowed website or network setting and put facebooks IP address in. This worked only once or twice. This morning after I got up I had still had the same problem. The game constantly refreshes or times out when trying to use the toolbar's mini-energy bar or accepting gifts in good ole mafia wars. This really stinks and is taking all the fun out of a game. Then FarmVille just hangs at 50% game load. Can anyone come up with a permanent fix? I seem to remember from an old computer class that this problem is actually caused by not using the formal code and substituting the everyday shortcuts.

just check if you have any download managers installed the download managers take on the contents of the flash pages as a content to download separately ... so disable the dm for that website (available on internet download manager , havnt checked on other download managers but sure they may also be having this facility)
