I installed Firefox 4 and then realised that too many of my existing addon were not compatible.

I unistalled FF4 and reinstalled FF3.6. Addons such as WOT, all-in-one sidebar, better privacy and google toolbar seem to work ok but are not listed in my addon list.

In my addon list I see reccomended addons only. Effectivly this means I cant manage or uninstall addons.

Additionally I seem to be getting a lot of "this url cannot be loade" even though the page does load up "sometimes"

This can be caused if one of the files that stores details of installed extensions is corrupt.

  1. Open your profile folder, for details of how to find it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
  2. Close Firefox
  3. Delete the following files if they exist, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini and extensions.sqlite
  4. Re-start Firefox, it will then rebuild the list on installed extensions
