TB created a global inbox I didn't want when converting my Outlook Express mail; how do I get rid of it?

In the middle of the import from Outlook Express the mail began to be split between the Local OE import folders and the Global Inbox. While I can move them to local folders I can't find how to stop new mail from going to the Global box, or how to delete the Global Box (and whether the nearby Trash, Sent etc should be deleted also). This was in prep for a transition from Windows XP, and there are now several weeks of mail in TB that are not in Outlook Express that don't want to lose.

Several years ago I tried an earlier version of TB that I had to uninstall, so the new version apparently found the old profile and immediately used it for download new emails without asking me about whether I wanted a Global Inbox. Don't know if that caused the problem. Thanks in advance

Hi

I moved all of the messages into local folders, but when I followed the instructions in the link for using Local Inbox TB was already set to "Inbox for this server's account", and the second choice's only option in the drop-down was to use the Global Inbox, which it's already using (screen shots attached) I tried checking that choice insted and got the warning in the third screen shot; I hesitated to say "OK" since there is no other account on the old computer.

As you can not delete the global inbox or it's associated folders under local folders that message is not relevant.

But what is wrong with using the global inbox? I use it almost exclusively. And I totally fail to understand your issue as you make it clear you only have one email address. What the folder mail is dumped in is named seriously has me at a loss. It sound to me like your getting all bound up with trivial rubbish. So please explain what the real issue is.

As for finding your profile, yes that is how it is designed to work. it is also designed to get your mail so why you would think it should be asking if it should is also beyond me.

Oh I think I understand now... You want to use the global inbox.

you have moved all the mail to the inbox under local folders (the global inbox) so all that is left is to change the setting so it uses it all the time. You can not lose what you have moved to local folders.
