I don't have a question about my computer, but I do want to report something. Yesterday I had a question about why my Firefox download didn't stay loaded when I restarted. I clicked on support and was connected to a man with such a strong accent, I had to ask him to repeat things 2-3 times. This is what was wrong: after I explained my problem, he took a very long time and finally said I can help you with that, but need remote access to my computer. Then he proceeded to criticize what I had on my desktop, which was some science lab equipment I was putting into a worksheet for my science class, but was none of his business and had nothing to do with why I couldn't get Firefox to download properly. Then he put me on hold to check on something, came back and explained I needed to have my computer checked every four months and they could do that for a small fee. I said, "What? No! I already have Apple Extended Care". He said he could help fix my problem, I said "OK?" but then he said it would be for a small fee. I quickly said no thank you. Come to find out, all I had to do was drag the Firefox icon into Aps folder. So, this is not cool. And I am very disappointed to find you all would condone this practice. That is NOT support, it is a scam!

Where did you find this so called Mozilla or Firefox Support?

Mozilla does not connect to anybody's computer nor especially charge anything for such one on one support. Like most open source companies, Mozilla does not do phone or email support.

Hmm were you searching for Firefox Support by way of Google? as they have Google Ads above the real search results and many of them I found fits your description. None of these Google Ad links are affiliated with Mozilla.org in any way.

What did you click on, exactly? If you open the Help menu and choose Firefox Help, you end up on the Mozilla Support landing page. Over there, you can choose from various categories to read support articles, or you can click on the Get community support link, which explains how to use the forum that you're reading right now.

There is no phone/Skype support or similar. At some point, support used to be provided via IRC chat (basically, text-based instant messaging), but I doubt that's still in use. Also, you might get help on Twitter if you tweet your problem with the #firefox tag, but I wouldn't count on it if I were you.
