All e-mails I had in my in box disappeared about 7-22-14, some with precious photos of my grandchildren.
One day prior to 7/22/14 when I pulled up Thunderbird ALL of my e-mails in my inbox, my sent folder and my Archive folder for angie.b1@verizon.net were GONE - just disappeared. There were probably over 200-300 e-mails in my inbox, do not know how many in my sent and archive box all of which dating all the way back to early 2008, many of them had priceless photos of my grandchildren, two of my sisters who died in recent years and many personal e-mails from dear family and friends. All of which I wanted to save. Some communication was from other loved ones who are now deceased. My grandchildren live very far away. I am heart broken. Many e-mails in my in inbox are not replaceable. My drafts file for this account, curiously was untouched- some of the few items in it also dating back to 2008.
My other two accounts that I have with you were just fine. I know the missing e-mails have to be on your servers. Could you please check and send them back to me? I would be so grateful.
Thank you for your anticipated help in this matter.

Your email account is with Verizon. I am not sure who you think is backing up your emails and is going to send them to you. Thunderbird is email client software that runs on your computer. Thunderbird does not issue email accounts. It does not have servers. Email providers have servers. It is up to you to make backups of your computer files.
Using email folders for long term storage of important files is a big mistake as you have found out. If there are attachments that you want to keep you should save them to a location on your local hard drive. If there are email messages that you want to keep you should move them out of the Inbox and into folders created under Local Folders.
