Okay, so I've heard a lot of people bemoaning the new security measures in the latest update of FF, which I completely forgot existed until now. I download quite a few files from ge.tt, and i've never had a problem. However, today, I was shocked to notice that the new security measures in Firefox blocked my safe download from the site, because it was a .zip. Then I read a few other posts and realized that many were having the same problem. Clearly because there are a few bad files on certain sites, everything from uploaded.net to ge.tt, FF has now deemed them malicious and won't let me download from them? How can I at least temporarily disable this feature in order to get the file I want? I'm gonna try using chrome, see if it works, but the fact that i have to go to such lengths to download a file is ridiculous!

Firefox uses data from Google's Safe Browsing to check whether files from a website are safe to download. You can set the browser.safebrowsing.appRepURL pref to an empty string value to disable this feature if you are willing to accept the risks that come with disabling this security feature.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
