Your user agent string may be corrupted -- it mentions Firefox 36, which definitely is not the current beta. Could you try the steps in this article: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox.

Any improvement? I have a test page which shows your current user agent string (in red): https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/jstest.php

It currently shows this before applying the things you said: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.04

After resetting the useragent in about:config it still shows me this: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.04

I can't delete my history nor delete all my cookie due to not wanting to loose it.

Thanks. It's not a normal version number because Firefox never reports minor version values like "4" at the end of a version number to websites. And also because you should not be running Firefox 36!

Do you have any add-ons (specifically, extensions) that might override the true user agent string? As a test, you could try Firefox's Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement? (More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode)

Regarding history and cookies, I don't think those are a factor at this point.

Do you have a general.useragent.override pref present on the about:config page?

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

I have a user agent switcher plugin, but I had the out of date issue before I installed that as well I think.

Does this still happen if you send the correct user agent?

You may have to clear cache an cookies.

"Clear the cache":

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Clearing my cache has done nothing for this issue in the past.

I don't want to remove my cookies and I doubt that fixes it as it even happens on websites where I have never been before.

Is it currently active and determining what version number is sent to websites?

What version is shown on the Troubleshooting Information page? Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

"Version" should appear In the first table on the page.
