What is the alternate google home page with a ? which stops google's autofill in search bar (different from autocomplete in URL bar)?
I use Firefox 59.0.1, Windows 10 (up-to-date as of today), 64 bit, 16 GIG RAM.
My search engine is Google; however, I HATE that it autofills my searches in the search field. (I think google's autocomplete is another hated google feature that rears its ugly head when one fills in a URL, e.g., www.???????.???)
A few weeks ago, I found a way to disable the autofill by using an alternate google home page that contained a question mark (?) in it.
My system was slightly hammered by a PUP a few hours ago and now that wonderful alternate google home page is gone!
Does anyone know what it is?
Also, does anyone know how to disable googles URL autocomplete so-called feature? Why do those idiots at google feel that we're too damned lazy or stupid to do our own typing? Why must they provide this feature that tracks our history under the guise of "helping us"? Pillory the SOBs. Thanks.

That option is in Firefox. Please go to Options --> Search then un-check the 2 boxes there. Under General there is Search for Text when start typing. Under Privacy & Security --> Address Bar can turn off suggestions there.
Sorry no idea of Google with a ?
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
No, this doesn't work; indeed, I think Google has disable these very functions. Damn Google's eyes! Thanks for trying.

Delete all cache and cookies. Are you signed into Google ? If so then yes it will remember when you sneezed.
If I run across the alternate google web page I seek, I'll let you know; however, if it's possible to let more and more people know about this problem, that would be great!
fyi: You can always use go duck go as it does not keep information nor Startpage.com
What does "go duck go" mean? Is it different from Startpage.com? I've ditched Google and now use Startpage as my default search engine, but I have a concern that it's "powered by Google." What's up with that? Thanks.
I think Startpage has a relationship with Google that involves pulling search results and ads from them.
DuckDuckGo is a different search site. You can check it out at the following address, and Firefox also includes it as one of the built-in search options:
