Hi,

take a look at this web site website. In particular the pictures pages web page are loaded extremely slowly or not loaded by firefox quantum (standard 61 or developer edition 62) while are loaded well by brave or chromium.

Can you tell me why? In general, firefox quantum is very fast compared to the others browsers.

Thank you

P.S. I tried also with different operating system without any difference. I already selected this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/accessibility-services.

You could file a bug report with the URL. Someone with deeper knowledge of how to determine why the script is (seemingly) running in circles might be able to find an explanation.

Hi, Ok I just edited the answer. Can you help me?

This page retrieves hundreds of images: https://www.vespaclubsanquiricodorcia.cloud/wp/en/pictures-2017/

I don't know why Firefox gives a "slow script" error and Chrome doesn't. Some difference in how the gallery script is handled, it seems.

Hi, can start with the Extensions your running : using 580megs of ram give or take @ 20megs each.

I have no problem opening the pages, A little slow to open, but still fast. It is full of java script and Word Press plugins Pictures did not see as as went in Private Browsing. Vespa, cool.

Your on a very old system, low on ram I would think. Your Video Card Driver condition is bad ,....

blocked = bad u'unavailable = bad u'disabled = bad

featureLog: {u'fallbacks': [], u'features': [{u'status': u'blocked', u'log': [{u'status': u'blocked', u'message': u'Acceleration blocked by platform', u'type': u'default'}], u'name': u'HW_COMPOSITING', u'description': u'Compositing'}, {u'status': u'unavailable', u'log': [{u'status': u'unavailable', u'message': u'Hardware compositing is disabled', u'type': u'default'}], u'name': u'OPENGL_COMPOSITING', u'description': u'OpenGL Compositing'}, {u'status': u'unavailable', u'log': [{u'status': u'opt-in', u'message': u'WebRender is an opt-in feature', u'type': u'default'}, {u'status': u'unavailable', u'message': u'Hardware compositing is disabled', u'type': u'runtime'}], u'name': u'WEBRENDER', u'description': u'WebRender'}, {u'status': u'disabled', u'log': [{u'status': u'disabled', u'message': u'Disabled by default', u'type': u'default'}], u'name': u'OMTP', u'description': u'Off Main Thread Painting'}]} info: {u'ApzWheelInput': 1, u'ApzDragInput': 1, u'ApzKeyboardInput': 1, u'CairoUseXRen

If am correct on being a old system you should not be running a beta version or the release version of 61 you should be on the Extended Release Version 61.0esr Firefox ESR does not come with the latest features but it has the latest security and stability fixes.

Note that Standard Release and Developer are sharing your bookmarks. If you uninstall one it is possible to loose from the other. So Backup. If move to the ESR. Or just run one or the other the Developer is rather heavy unless you actually need it and it can not be done with an editor and view source and on-line resources.

So, that is what I see about your drivers as they are the ones looking at the pictures, Firefox just puts the info together.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You are right the problem is how different browser firefox, brave or chromium handles the gallery script. I think that it is something that mozilla should work on.

Hi, thank you for the answer. I tried again with firefox developer edition 62b5 and firefox 61 both in safe mode without add on and nothing changed. Moreover, I tried with firefox ESR 52.9 with worse results. I do not think that my system is old. I have an i7-3537U with 8 GB DDR3 RAM and fast SSD 850 evo samsung with GNU/linux ubuntu mate 16.04 64 bit a linux kernel 4.13. I also tried with different system FX-8350 with 8 GB DDR3 RAM and fast SSD 850 pro samsung and operating system windows 10 with the same results. The problem is related to how firefox manage javascript for large set of images.

Please do not blockquote everything as we know what we said and can review it. It is a great tool when used right : https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_blockquote.asp

Ya, 16gig of ram would do you better as that is the minimum these days. So I guess need more to use Firefox as it should be.

Try fixing the video card drivers if possible an update or a reinstall and try the page again after. As they are all broken. Firefox would perform better if they were fixed.

What are you saying? In order to browse the Web is enough 2-4 GB of RAM.

The problem is related to firefox since brave, chromium work well.

P.S. I also tried with qupzilla and midori browser and both work well.

Hi, just because the others work means nothing. Firefox can not resolve your drivers.

So I guess use something else as there is no fix until you have tried reinstalling or updating your video card Drivers as I would say that is the issue.

I already tried with different PC with different video card and different driver. No difference. It is a firefox problem.

Hi erotavlas, 8gigs of RAM should be fine. I think what you're experiencing is a rendering issue in Firefox. I don't know of any workaround.

Hi, I think so. Moreover, I tried with different systems (4 or 8 GB of RAM and video cards), different operating system (GNU/linux kernel 4.13 or windows 10, android) and different firefox (standard, ESR, developer edition and nightly) and the result is always the same. Hence, the point is that firefox have an issue with that kind of Web page content. Even lightweight browser as midori or qupzilla are working. I also sent a feedback to mozilla in order to approach the problem.

I'm an historical user of firefox since the beginning v1 2004. I never left the ship even when firefox was sinking (v23-v43). Now thank to multiprocessing and to quantum project, firefox has come back and the performance and the capabilities are inline or better than the competitors. I always spread the usage firefox usage, but this is a blocking bug/problem. How can I recommend firefox if it fails to load a page when all the other browsers work? If there is something that I can do in order to solve the problem, let me know.

I have noticed this problem occurs on my lower end pentium D processor after running youtube video continuously. But as others have already reported this problem never occurred before and I am running it on several Linux variants.

The problem appears to be Firefox seams to be allocating resources incorrectly. I have notice it recovers if the cursor is moved over refresh but on a slower machine it may take 15 minutes or more.
