Old email address I don't have access to anymore causing issues
I have an old email account that I can no longer connect to the server with is there any way to move these emails or have this email disabled from trying to connect? I've tried everything in this thread with no luck http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=635510 . When I try to copy to a local folder in Mozilla it doesn't seem to work either so I'm not sure what options I have if I still want those emails in Thunderbird

I am assuming your old acount is an IMAP one, but even if not this will work.
Use this add-on. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
Export the mail as mbox files.
Create a folder in "Local Folders" to hold the mail. Right click the newly created folder and import the mbox files into Thunderbird again. In the case of IMAP account the export and import breaks the link to the relevant account and mail server. For POP it just moves mail around.
