My internet provider has forced me to go to GMail for service. I am a long time user of Thunderbird and Lightning. I set up a new GMail account in Thunderbird and that seems to be working well. However, now I would like to add a Google Calendar. I follow the steps in this procedure:

Using LIghting with Google Calendar

I make it to Step 7 and then get this blank screen saying "Please select the calendars and task lists you would like to subscribe to" with no Calendar choices to add. My only choice is to go Back or Cancel.

Any thoughts on what is going wrong? I have created a Google Calendar in my Google Account. I see that permissions have been set up for "Provider for Google Calendar".

I am still needing help. I thought perhaps it had something to do with the security settings. I uninstalled Provider for Google Calendar, and I deleted the security access to my Google account for this add on. My thinking was that since Thunderbird could not see my Google Calendar that something was wrong with the security access. About this time Thunderbird updated to 68.11 and then I installed Provider for Google Calendar again (same 68.2.1). I expected to see the security screen asking for my Google Account password and permission to access it. That screen did not come up when I attempted to create the Calendar link. And, further if I go into Google Security there is no longer any listing for Provider for Google Calendar. Is there some manual way of giving Thunderbird access to my Google Account?

Hi

For help with specific addons you are best advised to contact the addon support page or developer. Contact information should be on the addon page. Bear in mind they are created entirely independently by people, not part of the main Thunderbird development, and your choice of addon may not have been used by any of the helpers on this support forum.

That said...

According to the Provider addon page it was last updated in November 2019 and needs an update. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/ Recent comments say it does not work with recent TB versions, good add-on, wait for an update from the developer. One person suggested try this one instead for now. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/google-calendar-plugin/

Not a great answer, but I hope that helps. Agnes
