How do I make a sender NOT-JUNK permanently?
Thunderbird 68.12 I have repeatedly marked one sender as not-junk and it has moved it successfully to the inbox. But when the next email comes in, it still goes in the junk mail. This is despite writing a message filter to put it back in inbox from the junk filter. I have looked at the instructions on spam filtering works, but it still happens. How can I stop this happening as I am missing meetings from this sender?

Have you added them to your personal address book? That is an automatic whitelist for Thunderbird.
However in IMAP situations you need to look at the junk flag in the message list. If it is not orange and the message is in the spam/junk folder then the message is being placed there by your mail provider, not Thunderbird so no amount of settings in Thunderbird will stop it. I see this with Gmail in particular where they get a bee in their bonnet that emails from senders I have been getting for years are suddenly junk.

I found the answer when using Outlook (also effects Hotmail).
My friends email address was constantly causing it to be put in the Junk folder, and despite marking as not-junk in thunderbird it had no effect. This was done repeatedly as in the spam email guide from Firefox.
The solution was to add my friends email address to my contacts in Outlook. Then Outlook was not rejecting the email and it appeared in the Inbox as normal! Problem Solved.
