Hello all,

Lately I received a report from some colleagues that a certain feature is not working in Firefox that appears to be working on any other browser.

When drag/dropping e-mails and/or attachments from Microsoft Outlook (Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise) to a drop-field in Firefox (88.0.1 - 64-bit) nothing happens.

When using Firefox we can drag/drop files from Windows Explorer, but not from Outlook.

The same fields do work flawlessly when drag/dropping e-mails and/or attachments from Microsoft Outlook in Google Chrome, Microsoft EDGE, Opera and Safari. So Firefox is the only browser - on several OS's - that does not allow e-mails/attachments to be dropped from Microsoft Outlook. We have tested multiple users on different workstation and we have tested drop-fields from several web applications.

Surprisingly I cannot find any solution to this. The only similar cases I was able to find are from a couple of years ago but are about the other way around (so drag/dropping files FROM Firefox to another application).

At this moment I am advising my colleagues to use another browser. But we really want this to work properly with any browser of choice. Hope this community can help us out.

The update to Firefox 89.0 did not fix this problem.

Note: UAC is enabled on the workstations. Disabling does not affect anything. Tested attachments: .pdf, .docx, .html & .xlsx

Is there no workaround for this bug? Or even better: a fix in one of the following updates?

Seems to me like no-one is going to fix this - very annoying - bug.

I'm looking to replace my browser because of this. I was using a workaround to first drop from Outlook to Windows Explorer and Explorer drag/drop to Firefox. I was using this workaround waiting for a fix.
