My account serves 2 email addresses. The opening screen has always shown both email addresses, each followed by 'Inbox', 'Drafts', 'Sent', 'Archives', and 'Trash'. For some reason, the 2nd email address is now followed by 'Local Folders' with sub headings of 'Trash', 'Outbox', 'Drafts', and 'Sent', with the latter two inexplicably referring to the first email address. What has happened and how can I fix it?

re : For some reason, the 2nd email address is now followed by 'Local Folders' with sub headings of 'Trash', 'Outbox', 'Drafts', and 'Sent', with the latter two inexplicably referring to the first email address.

The 'Local Folders' mail account has always been at the bottom of the list of mail account. It contains the 'Outbox' folder used by all of your mail accounts if you use 'Send Later'. So there is no problem with the location of the 'Local Folders' mail account.

If you send an email from Local Folders mail account - eg: a Reply to an email stored in Local Folders, a 'Drafts' folder may get created and also a 'Sent' folder when email is sent.

You may also get a 'Drafts' or 'Sent' folder in the 'Local Folders' mail account if you changed the account's 'Copies & Folders' settings to use eg: Other and 'Sent on 'Local Folders'. Suggest you check the 'Account Settings' > 'Copies & Folders' settings in your mail accounts.

It would help if you could post an image of the folder pane showing the issue. Is the first email address (one at the top of the list) a Pop or Imap mail account?

I had never seen the 'Local Folders' heading before, but your explanation educated me on what it is. I solved my problem (more or less by accident) by double-clicking the second email address. All the accustomed subheadings reappeared. Thanks for the assistance!
