I am starting to hate your updates.

Every time settings are removed, things are changed, using becomes more complicated and there is no guidance. Once it wiped out all of my saved bookmarks. Every. Single. One. Hundreds of hours of research gone.

After this last one, my new tab page settings disappeared along with all of the shortcuts. My bookmarks in the header also disappeared. Where did they go? Unknown. How to change this? Unknown? That option no longer appears in the settings menu. Or if it does, it was renamed/relocated. I looked everywhere it should logically appear.

My bookmark shortcut disappeared - it is no longer an option to add a site from the browser header. Where did it go? Unknown. How to change this? Unknown. That option no longer appears in the Settings menu. Or if it does, it was renamed/relocated.

Why make using your browser more complicated? I get tired of having to rebuild my browser settings every time you folks update. When an update includes drastic changes, we should be warned and instructions for accessing the old settings included.

Sorry to hear about this problem. Normal version updates don't delete any data or add-ons.

These settings are saved locally in your profile folder, so a change of profile is one possible explanation. Did Firefox mention either of these during your update:

(1) Performing a Tune-up or Refresh -- there would be a new Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop in this case, assuming it completed normally

(2) Having to create a new profile -- a new profile doesn't have any of your data, but some of it may be recovered through Sync when you sign in with your Firefox Account

My bookmarks in the header also disappeared.

Do you mean in the Bookmarks Toolbar, which normally appears immediately below the address bar? (Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window) Or in the optional top menu bar (File, Edit, View...) that you can add above the tabs? (Restore the Menu bar in Firefox)

To see which category bookmarks are saved under (Menu, Toolbar, Other) you can use the Bookmarks Sidebar. Normally Ctrl+B will open/close it (assuming the current page isn't intercepting it).

My bookmark shortcut disappeared - it is no longer an option to add a site from the browser header.

When you are on a page that can be bookmarked, and the address bar is not being edited, you should see a star icon at the right end of the address bar. It will be empty if the page is not bookmarked, and blue if it is bookmarked. Is that the one that's missing?
