I've noticed a large increase in ads in Firefox for iOS. Seems like it started about 6 months ago. The worst is Google ads that overlay functional parts of a website. Example is the home page and 10 day forecast page of wunderground.com.

The problem is definitely in Firefox. Firefox Focus doesn't suffer from these ads.

Thanks, Jeff

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I understand that you have noticed a significant increase in ads while using Firefox for iOS, particularly Google ads that overlay functional parts of websites such as the home page and forecast page of wunderground.com.

This is indeed a concerning situation, and I appreciate you highlighting that Firefox Focus doesn't have the same issue. As a Firefox support volunteer, I'm here to assist you in resolving this problem.

To address the increased ads in Firefox for iOS, I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

Clear your browsing data: Go to the Settings menu in Firefox for iOS, tap on "Privacy," and then select "Clear Private Data." Choose the relevant options such as "Browsing History," "Cookies," and "Cache" to clear the stored data.

Disable unwanted extensions: Check if you have any extensions installed in Firefox for iOS and disable them temporarily to see if the ads issue persists. You can manage extensions by tapping on the menu button, selecting "Add-ons," and then disabling or removing any extensions that may be causing conflicts.

Update Firefox: Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox for iOS installed. Visit the App Store and check for any available updates.

If the issue continues after trying these steps, please let me know, and I will further investigate the matter to provide you with a more specific solution. Your feedback is crucial in helping us improve the Firefox browsing experience.
