Do check addressbook preferences in 'setting>composition"

Thanks for the suggestion. However, the address book settings were the same as my other HP notebook that is seeing the addressing books fine. I tried to make a mail list, which would do what I need. However, it would not allow me to drag/drop the contacts into it. It displayed the slashed circle when I hoovered over the new list with the selected contacts. I tried the same procedure on my other HP notebook and it worked exactly as it should and allowed me to drop contacts into the new list. There must be some reason that I'm missing that causes it to not allow me to drag/drop contacts into a list. It will allow me to move contacts from one address book to another. Thanks for any suggestions. J.

I have come up with a work around for the time being. I can make a new list under each address book that will have all of those contacts in it. If I enter a few letters of the new list name it will auto fill the lists. It's not as smooth as I had hoped but it works for now. Thanks to all for their input. J.
