Recently I updated to Firefox 4.0.1 from 3.6.12 and obviously there have been some changes. One thing that is driving me nuts is there is no longer a drop-down arrow with the forward/back arrows (left upper corner). This is a function I use A LOT, to get back to a page previously viewed. Now, instead of a quick: drop-down- find the page and go on, I have to page back over and over and over. This slows me down when on sites that create multiple duplicate pages. HATE IT!!!

Is there anyway to get this back or will I have to go back to the older version? Yes, it's that important to me.

Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.

Or install this extension to get the old "drop-marker" button restored.

WOW! Aren't you the clever one! How on earth did you figure that one out? -a rhetorical question... no need to disclose the source of your knowledge. Thank you so much -and for answering so fast!

Edited to add: this also works on Internet Explorer... for those unfortunate times when you have to use it.

but...but...but.....why have to do a 'trick' that not many will know - why not just bring back the drop down arrow...the secret of good design is to consult the user?!?!

It would be nice to just give us a list of changes when their upgrades involve as many changes as this last one did. Something to the effect of: this has changed; This is new, etc. This upgrade also ended the crash reports... for what good they did, I don't know. Now the back/fwd buttons are pale yellow, making them invisible with the Persona I installed. The entire look and features when looking at Add-Ons has changed. My color tabs are now gone, so instead of closing a window, often times I click the entire browser off... so annoying!

Hum... I wonder if others were a bit perplexed or even a bit annoyed with some of the changes. Start a new thread with this question and/or send a note to Support? Absolutely not wanting to sound grumpy about any of this! I love my Firefox... hate IE!
