Firefox 4 an5 do not offer to "save all tabs on exit" as did version 3.6. Please read the details below on why it is so important and why it prevents us from using Versions 4 and 5. Thanks.

Question Firefox 4 an5 do not offer to save tabs on exit as did version 3.6. We know we can install "save all and exit" but is inconvenient as one forgets sometime to go to file and click there, and looses all tabs. It seems a small thing but prevents us from using versions 4 and 5. And as viruses get better and better in attacking older versions many people simply will go for IE 8 or 9 or Opera if you do not put back this small feature. please email at: bgrchoni@gmail.com and mention if you plan to do it, so we can try Versions 4 and 5. Thanks. edit Details

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows.
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

Another possibility is to use:

I have my options set to show my windows from last time and FireFox has still lost my tabs when I restart FireFox

Unfortunately, tabs/sessions only get saved with a hard quit. On a mac, this means that command-Q or Firefox -> Quit Firefox can be configured to automatically restore tabs the next time Firefox is launched. However, simply closing a Firefox window by clicking the red x and re-launching a new window does not have the same behavior.

In this case, tabs are lost (app tabs remain).

I've tried about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true ad this no longer has an effect either.

This is a significant change between 4 and 5 and one that can lead to accidental loss of many tabs. Hope there's a fix soon.

Just for clarification, the about:config browser.showQuitWarning true no longer brings up a dialog ever, which it used to do in closing an individual window, as well as closing the Firefox Application.
