Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. Problem solved by uninstalling babylon which I couldn't do from my control panel.Incidentally I am signed in but there is no " Solved it" to click on Thanks for your help.
