How to get the Firefox icon pinned to WIndows taskbar to not create a distinct icon when it's used to start Firefox?

more options

I use Windows 7 Ultimate and like the fact that I can pin applications like Chrome, IE, WIndows Explorer, etc etc etc to the taskbar. It makes it very easy for me to manage my windows. If the application is not started, I see a small icon for it. When I select the icon, the small icon is replaced with a wider one representing the active application. For most applications, I can right-click on that icon and do things like start a new instance of the application, giving me a new icon on the taskbar.

Firefox does not do this. I have pinned Firefox to the task bar, arranged it where I want it, and when I select the icon, it creates a new and distinct active icon on my taskbar at the end of all my icons. I don't want that. I will not even pin Firefox to my taskbar if it insists on working this way. Why does Firefox work differently than any other application I'm aware of. This needs to be addressed.

Hmmm, mine stack up over the pinned icon as you would expect (Win7Pro x64). Is there anything special about the way you're starting up Firefox? Security sandbox? Using any command-line switches?
