Firefox does not support ActiveX, it's only supported by Internet Explorer. However, from the Foscam's website it looks like it should work on Firefox too. Unfortunately, since we have no access to the hardware, we can't really help you with that here, but I'd suggest you get in touch with Foscam's support. Thanks for that reply. I know ActiveX is only used on Internet Explorer. But as I previously stated, the AT&T Tech who helped me download McAfee, that their website only allows downloads with Internet Explorer, and for some reason, IE wasn't working right, so McAfee was not available, but the Tech got control of my pc, installed some sort of software program, onto Firefox, that gave Firefox the same options, as IE has. When that was done, I was able to download and install McAfee, using Firefox, instead of using IE. Since then, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 OS on my pc, so IE now works, but is still a bother using it to RECORD from the Foscam camera. Internet Explorer, is the ONLY BROWSER, that Foscam RECORDS ON, using the ActiveX mode. I can view things with the camera, in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and such, using another choice, the USER PUSH MODE, but that and the other choice, Mobile Phone, will ONLY let you watch or monitor what is being shown, but you CAN NOT RECORD, if it's not in ActiveX mode, using IE. I hoped, that whatever the technician used and installed on my pc, to fool the web into allowing something to be installed, by FIREFOX, and not by Internet Explorer as it was set up to do, would also allow Firefox to ACT like IE again, and allow the ActiveX mode, to work in Firefox. Really, what I am looking for, is probably a patch, that adds IE abilities and runs like IE, to maybe get the ActiveX aspect, to use in Firefox. Maybe I am asking a lot, but I know Firefox worked as if it was IE, to fool the site into allowing it to 'THINK' Firefox, was really Internet Explorer. As for asking Foscam for technical support, I did, and not only did the foreigner get access to my computer, made changes, the changes he made, I had to uninstall, and reinstall the Foscam camera. Outsourcing tech support, doesn't help me much, when it's with someone, that ENGLISH, is not their native language. If I can't understand someone speaking to me, isn't very good in trying to get help. Again, thanks for your reply.

More than likely you had IE Tab installed in Firefox prior to reinstalling Win7.

I agree with the-edmeister that it was likely one of the "IE Tab" extensions or even the "IE View" extension for Firefox. Neither of them emulate or fools sites or applications as they use the IE itself you have installed on Windows in a Firefox tab or opened in a IE window. The feature that needs ActiveX cannot be tricked into working in Firefox.

Well, the-edmeister hit it very well. I can remember the IE Tab, in what was installed. I tried installing the link I was given, but something wasn't quite right, so I found https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab-2-ff-36/, installed it, which placed an IE TAB ICON on my tool bar, where I could click on it, to open pages in FF or IE. I opened my Foscam, had no picture, clicked on the icon, to transfer it to run in IE, and all of a sudden, I actually do have the same options in FF, as I would have using IE, but I get to use FF stability, instead. This is great. I had also installed https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-view/, so a combination of all three of these add on's, allows me to RECORD, not only in IE, but now, in FF. Thank you all so much for the help.

Again the "IE Tab" extension just runs IE in a Firefox tab as whatever you have open in that tab is basically running in IE itself and not Firefox.

I do understand it is running in IE, but running in IE, inside FF. I am trying to avoid using the IE Browser itself. I personally don't like it's feel, but if Microsoft says you got to have it, if you want Windows, you got to have it. It's the way IE itself is built, I suppose, but I prefer using FF and Chrome, as they are more relaxing for me, than IE has turned into. Trying to get Foscam's camera accurately set up myself, and avoid using Foscam's tech support, is preferred, since my first experience with them. And because using FF is more relaxing for me, that is what I am in the middle of, this very moment. I just set Port Forwarding up on my router, to allow external access to it, from my cell phone. In IE, i had never gotten that far, so getting the FF add on's, certainly did what I needed done. I understand, I may be the only 61 year man, who prefers using FF or Chrome, over IE. But to me, that don't matter, what matters, are better results, from the steps I was shown to take in FF. Thanks for your input.
