I'm running 29.0.1 on Win 7/64 - HP dv9843cl laptop with 4 GB RAM (the max this puppy will support). I am using TabGroupsMgr (which I absolutely love) with about 100 tabs spread across 5 or 6 groups and periodically FF issues a message that it is running out of memory (perfectly reasonable). After the third time I get the message, I shutdown FF and after a minute or so I start it back up, choosing to have it restore the previous session. It comes up with one tab in one tabgroup and one other tabgroup with all the rest of the tabs in it. It does this every time on starting. If I then do Tools/SessionManager/BackupSessions and select the Previous Browsing Session, it restores the previous session perfectly with all the tab groups and the tabs appropriately placed into the right groups. Odd, yes?

Looooove Firefox...

Without Tab Mix Plus all of the TabGroups loaded correctly with Restore Previous Session. So, Tab Mix Plus is the culprit. Thank you very much for pushing me to root cause the problem...

I have since notified the author of Tab Mix Plus, asking him to check it out...

Thanks again...

Hi mhagerty, Yes odd! However you do have a couple of add ons there that do add features to the default session restore. Does this happen in safe mode as well? Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode Try it with safe mode on for the fifst and second start up when you restore the session.

Looking forward to your reply!

Tried Firefox Safe Mode, which did not help as TabGroups Manager was not loaded, so I ended up with exactly one tab.

I went through and disabled every Plugin and all of the Add-ons except the following:

Session Manager 0.8.1.1 Tab Mix Plus 0.4.1.3.1 TabGroups Manager 2011.11.28.1 Troubleshooter 1.1a

Restarted Firefox with only the above and when I clicked on the Restore Previous Session, I got exactly two groups, the first had 99 tabs, while the second had only 1 tab. Clicking on Tools/Session Manager/Backup Sessions/Previous Browsing Session, all of the tab groups with their contained tabs appeared correctly. I will next try removing Tab Mix Plus. Session Manager and TabGroups Manager are necessary to load the previous session...
