I have a laptop with a 17" diagonal screen.

The icons for AddOns measure 3mm square. They are just little blobs of color from any reasonable reading distance.

SOME of them have a text pop-up when I hover over them. If I lean REAL CLOSE to the screen, I can read the 1 point font text.

SOMETIMES that text identifies the name of the AddOn. Sometimes not; it only hints at some functionality -- which is useless; I have 3 different Font Size Control addons, and I need to know exactly which I'm looking at.

1. Why can't I make the damn blobs large enough to distinguish? 2. Why can't I make the text size on hover-popups large enough to read? 2a Same goes for all of the internal FF popup windows. 3. Why aren't there any "standards" for addon developers to make them identify the name of the addon when hovering over the icon?

4. Some Addons don't seem to have an icon at all. For instance, I just installed "Theme Font & Size Changer " and it says the icon is in the Customize area waiting to be dragged onto the Bar. Nope, nothing there that identifies itself as "Theme Font & Size Changer."

addenda to 4.: I can use some of the font size control addons to make SOME popup fonts bigger -- but the stupid "window" containing them does not increase proportionately; so now I can read four or five letters within the box, and the rest is "offscreen." No scroll possible usually, either.

You can find the icon of the "Theme Font & Size Changer" extension between the location/address bar and the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar.

Maybe this helps:

You can modify the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the about:config page staring with 1.0 If necessary adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx starting from 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.1 or 0.9) to make icons show correctly.

You can look at this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface.

You can look at the Default FullZoom Level or NoScript extension if web pages need to be adjusted after changing layout.css.devPixelsPerPx.

"You can modify the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the about:config page staring with 1.0"

The default value is -1.0. So am I trying to get it closer to zero to enlarge the icons, or smaller than the default value?

What is the maximum change from default which is allowable or reasonable?
