I upgraded firefox on my samsung s4 recently to use the new sync option.

After upgrade I am facing issue with accessing internet on firefox when connected to my corporate network using samsung cisco anyconnect.

Getting "Unable to find the proxy server message" when ever I try to access either intranet or internet sites.

All other apps in android work including chrome and default android browser. Proxy is configured under the wifi network settings.

Before upgrade this used to work .

Thanks, PAVAN

Would you try https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#aurora it has a networking change that resolves an issue when switching connection types.

Please verify that you received version 35 before testing by going to about:firefox and tapping the check for updates on Aurora. Then try accessing content via your Proxy.

I tried installing v26 manually by downloading apk from firefox website.

But still issue persists. it seems some thing got changed, but not sure where.

Is there any way I can point out the issue and fix it.

Issue is only when I connect to corporate network using Anyconnect.

This really sounds like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=947801 which is fixed in Firefox 35.

Would you please verify that you are using Firefox 35. When I posted on Friday we were in the middle of the transition from Firefox 34 to 35.

Hi Kbrosnan,

Thanks for your update.

I looked at your update and went through the bug.

It seems the issue I am facing is related to it, since I can access websites using IP address but not with DNS names.

It might that the issue started popping up after my recent upgrade of android on my S4.

I tested with both Mozilla (v33) and Aurora (v35.0a2), but still issue persists.

Below are my findings.

Mozilla v33

1. On VPN intranet sites are not accessible. 2. After configuring proxy also with DNS name both internet and intranet sites are not accessbile. 3. After configuring proxy with IP address both internet and intranet sites are not accessbile.

Aurora v35

1. On VPN intranet sites are not accessible. 2. After configuring proxy also with DNS name both internet and intranet sites are not accessbile 3. But when configuring proxy with IP address both internet and intranets sites are accessible with urls. Assuming proxy is taking care of DNS resolution here. Issue with here is in case any intranet sites configured not to be working through proxy are not accessible.

So issue is still there, but I have a workaround where I can use a proxy IP address and most bits work. Not sure what happens when company don't use proxy.

Below are my phone config

Samsung S4 - I9500 Android - 4.4.2 Baseband - I9500DDUFNI1 Build - KOT49H
