how to remove "My Space Toolbar" - only with Firefox, not with Google

more options

Recently I loaded Mozilla Firefox again. When I opened it, immediately "Ask" came up as the toolbar, and its associated about.com was designated as my home page. I knew this was bad, so I deleted it. It does not appear when I use the Google search engine.

However, the next time and every time after this when I use Mozilla Firefox and it opens, a pop up appears from "My Space Toolbox". It prompts me asking if I want to keep the new homepage or revert to the previous one (probably ask). This is so annoying. It also prompts, asking if I would like to have Google as my default homepage, even though I have specificifically listed Firefox as my default. (Is it from Google?)

I have tried to:

- delete it in my settings-options, but there is no place to delete it. - It won't allow a right click for a menu to delete. - It is not listed in My programs- not on the Start menu nor in my Program files - It is not listed in my Control Panel uninstall list - I have searched for it, and it doesn't appear in a search of my documents

How can I remove it? One site on the internet it states that this is malware, as it appears to be, and should be removed.

Please help.

Hi, please try working through Remove Ask Toolbar and Ask.com Search by Malware Tips. Hopefully this will also eliminate My Space.

It's also worth looking in your PC programs for anything that was installed on the date that this first started, since it might be part of the malware.

Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

After removal you may need to reset your home page and search, which you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Please see attached file for a printscreen (couldn't use Snippit) of the malware.

Please see print screen of problem:

Firefox problem

Important: Mulberry Press is my Homepage. This is NOT the problem. I chose this after the problem started, simply because it is a simple website link.
