why do I get up to 20 copies of any incoming e-mails?
Every time I receive an e-mail I can get up to 20 copies of the same e-mail no matter who they are from

Yes, they simply come rattling through.
That is usually an issue which anti virus mail checking. try disabling that feature in your anti virus program.
