I tried to do a defrag on my hard drive but process wouldn't complete due to corrupt/unreadable cache 2 file entries in firefox profile. I tried to delete the cache 2 file entries but couldn't because the file contains data ?

Yes, Firefox was closed when I tried to delete the file.

Did you try to run the chkdsk.exe utility?

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that allows to remove the folder.
