Firefox testpilot won't work in my browser

more options

I created an account for the Firefox Testpilot feature (as it sounds really interesting). After signing in i then proceed to install the Test Pilot add on. After successfuill installation i then click "Choose Your Features". This then brings me back to a page asking me to install the Test Pilot add on again. It then becomes a continous loop of installing/reinstalling.

Does this page load for you? https://testpilot.firefox.com/experiments

If not, you probably need to Sign In to your Firefox Account.

If so, that is the 'control center' for TestPilot where you can enable / disable each of the three "tests". The 3-dot button in the upper-right corner is a control button of sorts; it allows you to sign-out and a few other things.

When clicking the link not signed in loads the main page up but to access anything i need to create an account or log in. If i log in its the same error as the first post (a continoius loop to install the addon)

Sorry, don't know what to say - it's not working that way when I try it. I just get the Sign In button.

And when I am not "Signed In" that specific page won't load (https://testpilot.firefox.com/experiments), it gets re-directed to https://testpilot.firefox.com/ which is where the Sign In button appears.

And in a Profile that has never had the TestPilot page loaded or that extension installed, I see a "Get Started with a Firefox Account" button at the bottom of the page. That Profile doesn't have a Firefox Account and never had one for any of the services that use a Firefox Account. Like 'before' and 'after' testing.

note - a Profile is like a "user account" within the Windows Logon User account to give you basically an additional Firefox "installation" - I have many Profiles, some for testing different configurations and customizations, others for different types of websites I regularly visit that may have different add-ons installed & a different set of bookmarks & passwords, and at least one "default" Profile that has no customizations so that I can see what Firefox looks like for the new user. Plus I have multiple different versions of Firefox installed, each with its own Profile and sometimes multiple Profiles.

Hmm its very strange.

Ive tried creating a new account from the "Get Started" link, but the same thing happens. Its as if the webpage is not acknowleding that i have the addon installed as it keeps asking for me to install it.

Im not even able to sign out, rather having to close and reopen the browser to "Sign back in".

I took the browser out of Private Browsing and deselected the option to start every browser in Private Browsing.

This method has worked and i can now see the page correctly.

Many thanks
