when I download an email attachment, firefox wants to save it somewhere before opening it. Totally unneccesary....all I want is to open it, not save it in some folder. Is that possible and how?

thanks, Brian

When you tell the browser to save something, it is stored in the downloads folder.

When you just want to look at the file without saving it, it is downloaded to temporary storage. Later, it is removed.

So how do it set it to download in the temporary storage? I don't find the program user friendly or helpful ....only help is from users, and Thanks!

If you select to view a file, it's downloaded to temp storage, then Firefox displays the file or calls another program to open it.
