What's the "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" for if firefox updates without my permission anyway?
My question is: What's the "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" for if firefox updates without my permission anyway? Firefox doesn't respect it's users. Your concern about privacy and user's choices is horsehockey. One of my extras has disappeared.

First, let's calm down. We are talking about software, and while I understand you're upset, this isn't a forum to abuse people (most of those working here are volunteering their time to help you).
Second, what problems are you having with Firefox 57? If you elaborate them we can help you
I'm mad cos' firefox updated without my permission. Your respect for my privacy and choice is a lie. This is my PC and i rule over it. NOT YOU! That's all.
I get the feeling that you think we're developers or Mozilla employees. We're not. The people that answer questions here are users just like you, volunteering their time.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, click on the menu button, then go to the Help menu and select Submit Feedback.
But Firefox isn't designed to update if you already set it not to. We'll need some more info about your Firefox setup. Click on the menu button, then go to Help > Troubleshooting Information then click Copy text to Clipboard. Open a reply to this post, and go to Edit > Paste to paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page.
We'll also need to know which version you were on before the update. If you don't know, click on the Show Update History button in the Troubleshooting Information page to find out.
