I downloaded Firefox when I was in Italy and I cannot get the settings to update back to English

more options

I have gone into the three bar icon on the top right corner - preferences - general - language - adjusted the options so only English appears and this does not solve the issue. Web pages load in English by the actual menu options and web interface/prompt screens of Firefox are all in Italian. Does anyone know how to update this back to English?

In case I'm late in responding, you may need to run a new English-language installer.

As for how best to remove/reinstall on Mac, I must leave that to others, although I can mouth the words: drag Firefox.app to the trash, don't remove your data if asked, then use the new DMG file to install.

Could you check your "locale" settings on the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

On mine, the "Internationalization & Localization" section is at the very bottom. Which "locales" indicate Italian (it), if any?
