I am sick and tired of adverts in you tube causing hangs, and crashes on my iPad. Why can I install without problem on my PC, but not on iOS. If it cannot be done, there is no reason to use Firefox on the iPad, because Safari does the same job, and it’s a waste of time having two browsers

Blocking ads requires an add-on. As I understand it, due to restrictions imposed by Apple, it is not possible to use add-ons in Firefox for iOS.
